when I was a little girl, I wrote poetry. I remember one poem about an apple that fell from a tree and couldn’t find its way back up. I loved giving life to things we couldn’t quite see breathe in with our human eyes.
by the time I became a teenager, poems had turned into songs. writing became my escape, my release, and my peace during the times I felt alone, depressed, or like I didn’t fit in. Words spoke for me when I couldn’t speak for myself.
I believe expression brings deliverance. without it, we carry the very things that were meant to be released.
I almost didn’t make it. a purposeless life left me without hope or vision for the future. but finding a safe space in my God-given identity changed everything. I intentionally sought to understand my unique creative imprint and embrace my intricacies.
this is pure rebellion.
